Hope!

Relgion (Muslim)

I was reading this poem from and islamc poem website.
BE THANKFUL====================Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,If you did, what would there be to look forward to?Be thankful when you don't know something For it gives you the opportunity to learn.Be thankful for the difficult times.During those times you grow.Be thankful for your limitations Because they give you opportunities for improvement.Be thankful for each new challenge Because it will build your strength and character.Be thankful for your mistakes They will teach you valuable lessons.Be thankful when you're tired and weary Because it means you've made a difference. It is easy to be thankful for the good things.A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings. By: Anonymous This poem really showed me that my religion keep me going everyday because i have faith and guidance and it teaches me wrong from right. I love this poem because it taught me that i should be thankful for whatever Allah has given / blessed me with. There are people out there who have it worse than i do. And that everything happens for a reason. That there is no progress with out struggle. Personally i think that everybody needs a faith, spirituality, belief its just apart of life. Religion, faith, spirituality is a guidance through life and brings peace into your soul.!!
A Womens Role!
In America women are looked at an thought of homemaker, clean , cook, take care of the kids! Women are not only to be thought of as meat or slaves but as individuals to. Back in the day women had no say or role in the society know they have a big role! Not only are they mothers but there working mothers, in some family's the mother is bringing "home the bacon" . And still taking care of the children and doing all the things a mother does! In some cultures women have the role of bring home the Bacon and the husband takes care of the children. According to Margaret Mead, An anthropologist studied sexuality says that women and men are equal in some cultures they share the same responsibility's equally even sex. The article i was reading was basically saying that people are sick and tired of women using excuses the one excuses sexism! and men dis missimg the feelings of women because they cant handle it. Personally i think that the role of women and how it is portrayed is changing in America. natural disasters

TSUNAMI YOU HIT MY ISLAND HOME
The day was clear
The sun shone bright
Upon my island home
When all at once wailing, echoed from her shores.
And it came whirling, swirling, churning and sweeping
A monstrous twenty-foot wave
With a booming voice and mighty hurt
Destroying everything in its way.
For hours the waves swept in
Devastating her shores
Countless people lost their lives
From countless faces hot tears poured.
It came so fast in swirling rage
No time to think, to save themselves
The waves so high swept above their heads
And swept back with their lives.
A heart felt cry echoed throughout
Our beautiful island home.
The whirling sea swept of the smiles
From Sri Lanka's livelihood.
Father and mother grieving
For their loving children lost.
Little children searching everywhere,
Searching for their parents lost.
A grieving father stands by the sea
His dead son in his arms
His agony spread throughout the land
And touched every man’s heart.
The waves destroyed many homes,
It swept off many lives.
But through this pain and sorrow
Our people began to rise.
From far away people came
To lend a helping hand
Humanity poured through the veins
Of every man and child.
The Tsunami which hit our land
On “Uduwap” poya day
Has freed us from ourselves
Has shown us the correct way.
Together all of Sri Lanka
Should get over this ordeal
Every one working together
Regardless of nationality colour and creed.
The waves shattered Sri Lanka
Yet humanity it could not break.
Compassion, love and kindness reached out to all,
And gave hope in every way.
Oh Tsunami you hit us
Expecting us to fall.
But we will rise stronger,
Much better than before.
Tsunamis are very powerful and there winds are very strong and can wipe out a whole country. As i was reading this poem i realized that the tsunami had ruined a lot of peoples lives. As i was reading the poem it made me realize that a natural disaster can really ruin peoples live. This poem talks about how the tsunami came out of nowhere it wasn't expected, it just came on a normal day, all of the people whee just living a normal day and the tsunami hits . A surprise to everybody. When it hit the tsunami had killed a lot of people it was chaos , THE MOST SAD PART ABOUT NATURAL DISASTERS IS PEOPLE GET HURT AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN OR FAMILY MEMBER'S ARE! Or you see your family member dead right in front of your face. Natural disasters are a vary scary and they are something you should fear because you loose your family member's your loved ones and the people you care for the most, but you can be prepared for some natural disasters, and some you cant! Natural disasters is apart of life that's why they are called natural disasters!
