so much depends

So much depends upon the wet singing of the birds, so much depends on the beautiful blue sky, the tall trees, the dry leaves and grass on the ground. so much depends on the bird callings, the bright yellow, the beautiful blue sky.

does my head look big in this #3

As i keep reading this book i have learned that people can be so quick to judge on the "hijab". In the book i am reading Amal she is SO afraid to wear the hijab and what the school administration would say to her. And how her classmates would treat her! Amal would always be thinking are they gonna treat me diffrent . I think that part of the book was kinda of like are you kidding me... when i started to wear the scarf i was scared but not like Amal was in the book. Even though she went to a private prep school i think that anyone should be able to walk anywhere and not have to worry about what people are gonna say about what u are wearing or who u are etc...

does my head look big in this? #2

I am still reading 'Does my head look big in this? Lelia's mom says something really relevant right know in many peoples lives " Amal a good girl" Leila's mom says darting a look at Yasmeen. she wear hijab she good girl" pg .113. Abdel-Fattah. This quote is significant because right know in the Muslim community many young girls choose not to wear the hijab. In the Muslim religion it states that a girl must wear the hijab as soon as she starts her first menstrual cycle. Most young girls do and the ones who don't usually get maid fun of and harassed and in our religion it says a day of not wearing the hijab is walking around naked for a day. So Lelia's mom is saying to Yasmeen that it is important for her to wear her hijab and shows her loyalty to her religion and her how much her faith means to.. it also shows her purity and her morals and values!

does my head loo big in this? #1

As i was reading Does My Head Look Big In This? I learned that it is a very difficult for some Muslims to make the decision of wearing the scarf. For me when i decided to wear the scarf i was in the 6Th grade. It wasn't that hard because it was choice and i went to a school where i know i really wouldn't be teased that much about it! In the book Amal decides to start wearing the hijab in the middle of high school and she goes to a private prep school.. It took her a very long time for her to realize that she could where the hijab. I t wasn't a matter of her realizing if she could wear it or not it was the time she realized she wanted to embrace it and be like the other Muslims.

my paragraph

The holocaust was a tragedy to many people , it had many effects short term and long term. The long term effects were more physically and mentally. The physically effects on the holocaust survivors were very crucial. The prisoners at the concentration camps were given tattoos as there identity. According to the article written about Tova, she was given her identity "A27633," at the age of five. This number was used for there identification. Every time the holocaust survivors would look down on the there arms the would see the number and be reminded of the holocaust the fear the terror and be reminded of all the terrible things that happened to them. .According to JOHN BURDICK Article, some are not ashamed of the tattoo but proud and have kept it to show pride. "the world should be ashamed, not me." (Tova Friedman ) Tova had experienced a lot of things a young child should never experience.
The holocaust survivors’ had been left with physiological problems after the holocaust. Some of the survivors have problems starting new families because .They have lost there other families to the Nazis and it was hard for them to start from scratch because the still had fear and weren’t use to things yet. According to the article Krystal, and that the holocaust survivors suffered concentration camp syndrome.
It was hard for the survivors to cop with the knew living style and ways due to the concentration camps and the trauma they had surfed. The holocaust had many effects on people many were long term effects, the holocaust survivors have suffered so much and had so much trauma, fear and terror . Some still look back and still have fear and some are still haunted by it. Even though the holocaust was a bad thing, it made the survivors strong in one way and heroes, because if they could survive the holocaust they can survive through anything it just made them stronger in a way.

holiday ! :)

I found this song on holidays by boys like girls- When I was younger I used to be wild As wild as an elephant's childNo one could hold me down No one could keep me around ow it's your turn, take a shot Baby show me everything that you got Maybe you can keep me alive Maybe you can get in my mind But it's only a matter of time Before I run far away I need to take a holiday Maybe it's a fall from grace I gotta find a new place A holiday I'll set off on a new chase I gotta see a new faceI need to take a holiday My father, he was always wise As wise as an elephant's eyes He couldn't hold me down He couldn't keep me around So are you gonna take your shot? It's the only one that you got Maybe I'll go out on a limb Maybe I'll jump in for a swim When the lights go dim You know I'll run far awayI need to take a holiday Maybe it's a fall from grace I gotta find a new placeA holidayI'll set off on a new chaseI gotta see a new face I need to take a holiday(Need to take a holiday)Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoaA new start I've broken too many hearts And I don't have any clue where to goI don't knowBut maybe I'll be back someday after my holiday When I was younger I used to be wild As wild as an elephant's childAnd I don't think I'll ever change I think I'm gonna stay the same I'll run far awayI need to take a holiday (need to take a holiday)Maybe it's a fall from grace I gotta find a new place A holiday I'll set off on a new chase (set off on a new chase)I gotta see a new face I need to take a holiday A new startI've broken too many hearts And I don't have any clue where to go I don't know But maybe I'll be back someday after my holidayA ll of the wasted time The hours that were left behindThe answers that we'll never find They don't mean a thing tonight. This song is talking about how he needs a vacation a " holiday" A break from life . I think that holiday means the bringing of the loved ones family friends. Holiday is a day/days to get away from the real world to have fun to be yourself. A holiday is a day you take off think get away from all the problems and when you come back maybe you can deal with them in a better manner, and that after coming back from a holiday you have a knew start. Life without holidays i think people would be a wreck and kids would be miserable. Holidays are great thing and a good thing apart of life!

Imperalsim!

Imperialism in Africa was a big problem in the late 1800s. The British basically took over Africa , mostly because of their own interest and there own . Beside the fact that they had moral interest in Africa they had money interest. I think that the British were very selfish to do that to Africa because they only thought of themselves and not of Africa's needs and what they would get out of this! The only reason British did what they did is because The Suez Canal cut off six thousand tedious miles of travel which otherwise had to be made for a British ship to travel to India. Wow what people do to get to the top! This just made it more accessible and cheaper cost for the British imports and exports!

Love!

One of my favorite love poems. That i think is so cute is.!#1- Your Name :I wrote your name in the sky,but the wind blew it away.I wrote your name in the sand, but the waves washed it away.I wrote your name in my heart, and forever it will stay.- Jessica Blade - This poem is basically saying that she had written his name every where but every time she wrote it something would wash it away or blow it away but. Once she wrote it in her heart it was forever there. Source:http://www.lovepoemsandquotes.com/LovePoem09.html
#2-
A stranger you were once. Then, with a gentle look you took my hand.As our lives engaged, you lit my life and I held both your hands. Now that decades have passed, ours souls have indeed become one.How fortunate we are that we have found the love so true that everyone dreams about.- Laura Veronica Merodio - This poem is amazing it is saying from the first time we met i really didn't know you,you were a stranger but know that we have . We have fallen in love and time has gone by so fast. The love we have everybody else dream of! Everybody needs love in there lives weather its a Carree a significant other no matter what it s as long as it makes you happy and you are receiving the love you have always "dreamed of" then Its love! Love in somebody's life is like a fish and water a fish cant live with out water and i think a person cant live without love!

Bollywood!

While i was looking for text on bollywood i found an intresting article on former Miss world.
I found out that in Hong Kong. Pryanka Chopra had received the award for Nielsen Box Office. This award show was launched in 2007. For various categories. She is a vary famous bollywood actress in the film industry! She has been recognized all over the world for her beauty and her films!

Hope!

Hope, is a key aspect of life. For any person to achieve any goals they set or for anything they wanna do they have to have hope with out hope it is pointless. And for any person to have hope they must have to gone through struggle because hope is caused by struggle. These two quotes are my favorite hope quotes.
#1-Once you choose hope, anythings possible - Christopher Reeve
This quote is basically saying that once you set you goals and strive to achieve them. That you have hope that anything is possible as long as you have hope.
#2-Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all -Dale Carnegie
This quote is saying that the person who keeps trying even when there is no hope. They still have hope, that's when they accomplish there most important goals in life and succeed. Hope is something that everybody needs in order to accomplish all of there goals and go somewhere. Without hope life is pretty much pointless.

Relgion (Muslim)

I was reading this poem from and islamc poem website.

BE THANKFUL====================Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,If you did, what would there be to look forward to?Be thankful when you don't know something For it gives you the opportunity to learn.Be thankful for the difficult times.During those times you grow.Be thankful for your limitations Because they give you opportunities for improvement.Be thankful for each new challenge Because it will build your strength and character.Be thankful for your mistakes They will teach you valuable lessons.Be thankful when you're tired and weary Because it means you've made a difference. It is easy to be thankful for the good things.A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings. By: Anonymous This poem really showed me that my religion keep me going everyday because i have faith and guidance and it teaches me wrong from right. I love this poem because it taught me that i should be thankful for whatever Allah has given / blessed me with. There are people out there who have it worse than i do. And that everything happens for a reason. That there is no progress with out struggle. Personally i think that everybody needs a faith, spirituality, belief its just apart of life. Religion, faith, spirituality is a guidance through life and brings peace into your soul.!!

A Womens Role!

In America women are looked at an thought of homemaker, clean , cook, take care of the kids! Women are not only to be thought of as meat or slaves but as individuals to. Back in the day women had no say or role in the society know they have a big role! Not only are they mothers but there working mothers, in some family's the mother is bringing "home the bacon" . And still taking care of the children and doing all the things a mother does! In some cultures women have the role of bring home the Bacon and the husband takes care of the children. According to Margaret Mead, An anthropologist studied sexuality says that women and men are equal in some cultures they share the same responsibility's equally even sex. The article i was reading was basically saying that people are sick and tired of women using excuses the one excuses sexism! and men dis missimg the feelings of women because they cant handle it. Personally i think that the role of women and how it is portrayed is changing in America.

Italian Culture!

The Italian culture is an amazing culture. The Italians have great table manners. Here are some-
. Remain standing until invited to sit down. You may be shown to a particular seat. . Table manners are Continental -- the fork is held in the left hand and the knife in the right while eating. . Follow the lead of the hostess - she sits at the table first, starts eating first, and is the first to get up at the end of the meal. . The host gives the first toast. . An honoured guest should return the toast later in the meal. . Women may offer a toast. . Always take a small amount at first so you can be cajoled into accepting a second helping. . Do not keep your hands in your lap during the meal; however, do not rest your elbows on the table either. . It is acceptable to leave a small amount of food on your plate. . Pick up cheese with your knife rather than your fingers. . If you do not want more wine, leave your wineglass nearly full. The Italians have strict rules when it come down to eating! I think that pretty great from what i have seen at some tables i think a lot of people could use these table manners! In Italy you must be up to par first impressions means everything to them. The way you dress. a good image are really important to Italians. You will be judged on if you have good clothes good shoes and you carry yourself in a mannerly way. The primary relgion is catholic in Italy, they have more catholic churchs than any other country. I hav learned that the italian culutre is way more diffrent then, the Americsn culture.

Struggles and overcoming the diffcult bumps

I found this amazing text on overcoming difficulties! By reading this article i have learned that difficulties is apart of life and that you just have to deal with them . Some deal with difficulties better then others some just crumble and some take it and attack and overcome it with pride. That makes them stronger, and that when life throws a difficulty bump at you just to have to run with it! How would this world be without difficulties and problems etc.... it would be odd, there is no such thing as perfect."What would you do if all our ideals for man were accomplished, if altruism were universal?" We would have to emigrate to some worse planet to have scope for our feelings." (—W. Q. Judge) This is one of my favorite quotes from the article i just read because. It just says that the world without struggles and difficulties and wouldn't make sense and that people would just go crazy to a perfect world! Over all by reading this article i have learned to make the best of the difficulty bumpsthat life throws at me and to overcome them and it will make me stronger.

The Holocaust (long term affects)

The Holocaust had many effects long term and short term effects. The long term effects were more physically and emotional. The physical was one of the effects that the holocaust surviovrs had to deal with after it. In the holocaust, the prisoners of concertation camps were tatooed with a number wich was used for identification. Their identiy was taken everyday they were reminded of the terror everytime they looked down on to there arms. Acording to JOHN BURDICK Article, some are not ashmed of the tatoo but proud and have kept it to show pride. "the world should be ashamed, not me." (Tova Friedman ) Tova was five years old when she git the tatoo they told her she had no identity that this was here knew identity"A27633," the new Tova. Tovas exprience in the holocaust she will never forget being in a train with a lot of people , no food , no privacy, no water. And having to watch the naked prisoners walking in front of the Nazis to see if they were healthy. and watching young children being burned. Seeing something like that as a young child must be terrfying and haunting for the rest of there lives. To exprience that as a young chilid was terrfying for her but, it just made her a stronger person and to not be ashamed of being a survior of the holocaust bu, proud!. The Holocaust had alot of effects on the surviors but, mostly the long term effects.

natural disasters

I was researching an article on natural disasters and i came across this poem talking about the tsunami that hit Sri Lanka.

TSUNAMI YOU HIT MY ISLAND HOME

The day was clear
The sun shone bright
Upon my island home
When all at once wailing, echoed from her shores.

And it came whirling, swirling, churning and sweeping
A monstrous twenty-foot wave
With a booming voice and mighty hurt
Destroying everything in its way.

For hours the waves swept in
Devastating her shores
Countless people lost their lives
From countless faces hot tears poured.

It came so fast in swirling rage
No time to think, to save themselves
The waves so high swept above their heads
And swept back with their lives.

A heart felt cry echoed throughout
Our beautiful island home.
The whirling sea swept of the smiles
From Sri Lanka's livelihood.

Father and mother grieving
For their loving children lost.
Little children searching everywhere,
Searching for their parents lost.

A grieving father stands by the sea
His dead son in his arms
His agony spread throughout the land
And touched every man’s heart.

The waves destroyed many homes,
It swept off many lives.
But through this pain and sorrow
Our people
began to rise.

From far away people came
To lend a helping hand
Humanity poured through the veins
Of every man and child.

The Tsunami which hit our land
On “Uduwappoya day
Has freed us from ourselves
Has shown us the correct way.

Together all of Sri Lanka
Should get over this ordeal
Every one working together
Regardless
of nationality colour and creed.

The waves shattered Sri Lanka
Yet humanity it could not break.
Compassion, love and kindness reached out to all,
And gave hope in every way.

Oh Tsunami you hit us
Expecting us to fall.
But we will rise stronger,
Much better than before.

Tsunamis are very powerful and there winds are very strong and can wipe out a whole country. As i was reading this poem i realized that the tsunami had ruined a lot of peoples lives. As i was reading the poem it made me realize that a natural disaster can really ruin peoples live. This poem talks about how the tsunami came out of nowhere it wasn't expected, it just came on a normal day, all of the people whee just living a normal day and the tsunami hits . A surprise to everybody. When it hit the tsunami had killed a lot of people it was chaos , THE MOST SAD PART ABOUT NATURAL DISASTERS IS PEOPLE GET HURT AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN OR FAMILY MEMBER'S ARE! Or you see your family member dead right in front of your face. Natural disasters are a vary scary and they are something you should fear because you loose your family member's your loved ones and the people you care for the most, but you can be prepared for some natural disasters, and some you cant! Natural disasters is apart of life that's why they are called natural disasters!

"Id rather have fallen in love then never have fallen in love at all"

RABBITS

I was reading these facts on rabbits because I have been obsessed with rabbits all my life. I have found out that
- Rabbits are not rodents, but they belong to lagomorphs order
-Rabbits are loving and caring animals
- They weigh about 11- 12 pounds
-Rabbit's chew 120 times a minute and has over 17,000 taste buds.
-When rabbits are happy, they perform a series of jumps, twists and runs, which is termed as binky.
-Droppings of rabbits serve as an excellent garden fertilizer.
-Babies open their eyes at about 10 days.
-Rabbits can mate when they are 3 months old.
-Rabbits can't vomit.
The most interesting thing is about this article is that rabbits’ aren’t able to throw up that is so cool. Another fact that I liked is that when rabbits are happy they perform tricks and start to jump around and I tend to do that when I am happy me and rabbits’ have a lot in common!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
